Another yApayao singer set to join It’s Showtime's ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’

Conner, Apayao – Following Leonardo Amorsolo Jr.’s successful ‘The Voice Norway’ stint, another Connerian singer is set to conquer the stage with his singing prowess in a national amateur singing competition.

Sandex Bayaua Nunag, a political science student and a resident of Caglayan, Conner, Apayao will be performing this month in the Tawag ng Tanghalan, a segment of It's Showtime showcasing talented individuals in singing.

According to him, he auditioned on the show on December 1 and was among the lucky auditionees to be called to become one of the contenders on the segment dubbed "Your all-time favorite search for outstanding amateur talents.”.

In an interview with GURU Press Cordillera, Nunag said he was first told to be performing live this week but clarified that it is not sure yet due to schedule changes.

“Hindi po sure na this week, sir, kasi may biglaang changes sa schedule kagabi. Pero sure thing, sir, is this December talaga. Any day, kaya dapat ready ka lagi kasi any moment, e sasalang ka,” he said.

He likewise shared that he is now in ABS-CBN for voice coaching and stage rehearsal.

As he takes his path on his journey to the prestigious competition, Nunag expresses gratitude to his supporters for cheering for him and their encouragement.

“I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for all the incredible support you've shown me on this musical journey. I'm genuinely touched by the love you've showered upon me. Rest assured, I'll keep pouring my heart and soul into my performances. Kaya sana ay samahan niyo po ako sa kompetisyong ito,” he said.

“Hindi ko lang po ito laban, kundi laban ng buong probinsya ng Apayao. Ito ang unang pagkakataon na mayroong sasali sa TNT galing sa aming probinsya, pero sana hindi rin ito ang huli. Naniniwala akong maraming magagaling kumanta sa probinsya namin at sana maging inspirasyon ako sakanila to not be afraid to show their talent on a bigger stage,” he added.

To watch his performance, It’s Showtime is aired via Kapamilya Channel and Jeepney TV, free-to-air television channels A2Z and GMA Network's GTV.

It will also be livestreamed on YouTube and Facebook via Showtime Online, Kapamilya Online Live, and iWantTFC.

Nunag is the second singer from Apayao to set foot on Tawag ng Tanghalan’s stage, once queued anytime this month.

The first one is Leonardo Amorsolo Jr., a native of Malama, Conner, who later joined ‘The Voice Norway” and landed at the top 16.
