Apayao named most peaceful province in Cordillera

Tabuk City, Kalinga – With the lowest recorded focused crime incidents last year, Apayao was named the most peaceful province in the Cordillera region in 2022.

The province listed only 32 focused crime incidents, according to the Police Regional Office-Cordillera.

Focused crimes are murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, robbery, theft, car napping of motor vehicle and motorcycle.

With the recognition, a certificate was awarded to the Apayao Police Provincial Office, received by Police Provincial Director PCOL Jefferson Cariaga at Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet on January 18.

Apart from Apayao, 6 municipalities in Abra, 3 in Mt. Province and 1 in Benguet were likewise recognized.

For Abra province, Tubo, Bucloc, and Daguioman towns were commended as they only recorded 1 crime incidents each from 2018-2022.

The aforementioned municipalities along with San Quintin, Luba and Boliney also gained special recognition for listing zero focus crime incidents in 2022.

Receiving the same award are Barlig, Besao, and Natonin towns in Mt. Province and Kabayan in Benguet.
