Luna, Apayao - To further enhance the province’s emergency response, another unit of Patient Transport Vehicle (PTV) has been provided to the provincial government of Apayao by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) recently.

The ambulance was personally handed to Governor Elias Bulut, Jr., along with Provincial Health Officer Mark Joleen Calban, during the turnover ceremony held at the PCSO Headquarters in Mandaluyong City on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.

As cited by the Apayao Provincial Public Information Office, Apayao is the only province in the country to receive such a vehicle from the agency, aside from other selected municipalities.

It will benefit the residents of Kabugao, as it will be deployed to the Apayao Provincial Hospital (APH) located in the municipality.

During said ceremony, Bulut expressed his gratitude to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., and PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles for providing the vehicle, emphasizing the significance of the ambulance in enhancing the province's healthcare services.

“Malaking tulong ito sa pag-transport ng aming mga pasyente, lalo na sa mga babies na nangangailangan ng agarang gamutan sa mas malalaking mga hospital,” he said.

To recall, PCSO also turned over the same vehicle to Apayao and other provinces in the region during the Cordillera Month Celebration program in Luna on July 15 last year.

Included in the vehicle were a collapsible bed, foldable wheelchair, and other equipment.
