Apayao-PLGU provides aid to 600 families affected by typhoon Egay

Luna, Apayao – The provincial government of Apayao provided lifeline assistance to families affected by Super Typhoon Egay which hit the province and nearby places last July 26 and 27, 2023.


A total of 600 families received the aid today, July 29, at the Ecotourism and Sports Complex in Luna, Apayao.


Of the assistance given, 300 families received family food packs, containing essential food items while another 300 families got P10,000 each.

With the initiative of Congresswoman Eleanor C. Bulut-Begtang, funding for the said aid was sought from the office of Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla, Jr.


Governor Elias C. Bulut, Jr., meantime, assured yApayaos that there would be further assistance to be distributed.


"Pagraramanan tayo nu anyaman iti maited iti gobyerno tayo ngem adun tu pay sumaruno. Haan nga maangay daytoy nu awan iti kooperasyon ken kolaborasyon iti tunggal maysa kanya tayo," the governor said during the distribution program.


DSWD and other national line agencies are still monitoring the situation of the affected families to provide them with the necessary help and to ensure their well-being and recovery.


Meanwhile, Apayao, being heavily impacted by the disaster has been declared under a state of calamity this July 29.
