Apayao PLGU recognized nationally for promoting transparency, accountability over local projects

Luna, Apayao - The provincial government of Apayao has been recognized as the top-performing province in the country in promoting transparency and accountability in the implementation and management of local projects through the SubayBayan system.

SubayBayan is the country's Department of Interior and Local Government's online monitoring system that provides real-time information on the physical and financial status of locally-funded projects, as well as their actual location, implementation, and other basic data.

Likewise, Apayao is also the only PLGU in the Cordillera region that received such an award and is among the top 9 finalists nationwide.

A certificate of recognition was personally handed over to Governor Elias C. Bulut, Jr. during the awarding ceremony on November 16 at the Sequoia Hotel in Parañaque City.

Aside from the PLGU, three municipalities in the province were also named as Top Overall Performers and finalists for the Local Government Units category.

These include the town of Pudtol, Luna, and Santa Marcela, which also received a special award during the said event.

Said awards were given to them in recognition of their remarkable and pioneering efforts in the implementation of LGU’s project.
