Apayao to host CARASUC Meet 2024 with over 2,000 participants expected


Luna, Apayao - After the recently concluded CARAA meet, Apayao is set to host another regional sporting event, this time the Cordillera Administrative Region Association of State Universities and Colleges (CARASUC).

 

CARASUC is an annual regional sporting event that gathers student-athletes from various State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in Cordillera, which fosters camaraderie and sportsmanship among the participants.

 

The event, which will take place from April 29 to May 3, will showcase 24 various competitions, including combat sports, basketball, volleyball, football, track and field, and sepak takraw.

 

Aside from the sports competitions, cultural and arts festivities featuring traditional dances, music, and the arts will also be conducted.

 

These activities will be held in different venues in the province, particularly in the municipalities of Luna, Pudtol, and Santa Marcela.

 

According to the Apayao Provincial Information Office, more than 2,000 student-athletes, coaches, and officials from seven SUCs in the region are expected to join the event.

 

These SUCs include the Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology, University of the Philippines -Baguio, Benguet State University, Ifugao State University, Kalinga State University, Mountain Province State Polytechnic College, and Apayao State College.

 

As the host province, the provincial government of Apayao, led by Governor Elias Bulut Jr., recently conducted a meeting with the ASC officials to ensure the successful conduct of various competitions.

 

The meeting also addressed various concerns and outlined proactive measures to ensure the well-being of the participants and spectators.
