Apayao youth to convene in Sta. Marcela for summit against terrorism, illegal drugs

Apayao, Philippines – Young individuals from the seven towns of Apayao will be coming together for a summit against terrorism and illegal drugs in Santa Marcela on July 19 – 21.

The event is the biggest gathering of the Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT) in Apayao which mobilizes the youngsters as an advocacy support group against terrorism and illegal drugs in the country.

For this year’s KKDAT Provincial Summit, the event will also highlight mental health awareness among the youth apart from the focus on combating terrorism and illegal drugs. This is to take care of the mental well-being of the young ones amidst mental health concerns being faced by people in the world.

As part of the preparation for the 2024 KKDAT Provincial Summit, the Apayao Police Provincial Office gathered the KKDAT members and officers at the Camp Elias K. Bulut Sr. Training Center in Sta. Lina, Luna on July 8 for a meeting to discuss the upcoming activity.

It was planned that the activities to be conducted in the 3-day summit include the Festival of Talents (Sayawit & Declamation), ball games, mental health awareness lectures, poster-making competition, and the Search for the Mr and Ms KKDAT 2024.

The 3rd KKDAT Provincial Summit will mark the theme: “Thriving Youth Mental Health: Revitalize Vibrancy to Ascribe Mental Health Stability.”
