Army civic mission work in Pasil benefits over 300 individuals

Pasil, Kalinga – In coordination with the Local Government of Pasil headed by Mayor Alfredo “Chao-ig” Malannag Jr., the Medical and Civic Action Program (MEDCAP) of the reservist of 1405th Ready Reserve Battalion and 50th Infantry Battalion served over 300 yPasils on Saturday, May 21.


Services offered by the army reservists include free medical and dental check-up, haircut, circumcision and animal care. Likewise, they also assisted in the Brigada Eskwela being done in Magsilay Elementary School.


In a report by the Philippine Army, it said that 22o yPasils have benefited from the free medical and dental check-ups, 35 for the haircut and 10 underwent free circumcision. Meantime, 3o animals were also served by the team.

In a statement, LtC Melanio Somera, the Battalion Commander of 50IB, said that the activity conducted aims of bringing services closer to the public and to make it known to the people that nothing can hinder the government’s commitment in delivering assistance to the community.


"Ang aktibidad na ito ay naglalayong maiparating sa ating mga kababayan ang iba't-ibang mga serbisyo lalo na ang pang medikal. Ito ay upang maipabatid natin na walang makahahadlang sa ating pamahalaan upang makapag abot ng tulong sa kanilang komunidad," he said.


Somera, in an addendum, expressed his gratitude to the Local Government of Pasil and other agencies for their support that paved the way to the success of the activity.

Also, the military officer underscored that the efforts of the army reservists in bringing medical services to Pasil showed that the youth are really the hope of the country.


"Itong pagkakataon na ito ay nagpapakita rin na ang ating mga kabataan ang tunay na pag-asa ng ating bayan. Kung kaya, hinihikayat ko ang ating mga kabataan na gugulin na lamang sa inyong pag-aaral o paglilingkod sa bayan ang inyong lakas at talino at hindi sa pamamagitan ng pag aalsa laban sa ating gobyerno,” LtC Somera stated.
