Around 400 Balbalan athletes, coaches ready to reclaim victory in 2025 Kalinga Sports Festival

Balbalan, Kalinga – The Municipality of Balbalan said they are ready to reclaim victory in the upcoming Kalinga Provincial Athletic Meet this 4th week of January 2025.

In 2023, Balbalan managed to grab the overall champion title in the said Kalinga Sports Festival. The delegation hauled a total of 63 gold medals, 44 silver, and 30 bronze at the time. 

Now that the Kalinga Province is about to gather all the student-athletes across the different municipalities to select representatives for the 2025 CARAA meet, Mayor Almar Malannag said that the Balbalan delegation, composed of around 400 athletes and coaches, is ready for the event.

Malannag added that the students are currently having their practice and that the Balbalan LGU already prepared the logistics support and the budget for the athletes.

The Mayor Malannag again underscored that one of his administration’s priorities is supporting the youth as they are the ones who will be leading Balbalan in the future.

“Dagitoy ubbing tayo iti mangituloy tu kadagitoy development, dagitoy improvement, ken kadagiay amin nga maar-aramid ditoy Balbalan,” he said.

The local chief executive himself is on the ground, making sure that the student-athletes who will be playing for Balbalan in the provincial meet are well taken care of.

“Full support iti LGU, full support iti mayor iti Balbalan, full support amin nga opisyales ditoy kadagitoy u-ubbing nga mangrepresentar iti Balbalan dita provincial meet,” assured Malannag.
