Authorities burnt P.4Billion marijuana in Tinglayan in past 6 months

Tinglayan, Kalinga – Nearly half a billion worth of illegal weed was destroyed by the authorities in Tinglayan for the first six months of 2022.


Burning of marijuana plants in Tinglayan is part of the continuing efforts of authorities to clear remaining drug-affected barangays in the said municipality.


Data from the Tinglayan police showed that a total of P426,950,000.00 worth of fully grown marijuana plants , seeds, and stalks were burnt in the municipality from January to June this year.

The burning was done in 13 marijuana eradication operations launched by the Tinglayan police together with other units from the Kalinga Police Provincial Office and Police Regional Office Cordillera.


Of the 13 operations, there were 3 marijuana cultivators arrested.


Apart from Marijuana eradication, Tinglayan Police Chief, PCapt. Luis Bulao mentioned that the police in Tinglayan continuously conduct lectures to different barangays to raise awareness about the nature and dangerous effects of illegal drugs to a person and the community.
