Abra police seek help in identifying killer of Vietnamese national

San Isidro, Abra – Authorities in San Isidro, Bangued, Abra stepped up their search for the suspects involved in the killing of a Vietnamese national, urging anyone who may have information on the incident to contact them.


The decomposing corpse of the victim residing in Barangay Bangbangar was discovered on December 31 by two students along the provincial road in Barangay San Marcial. The two immediately reported it to Villaviciosa police.


San Isidro police proceeded to the area and positively identified the body as the reported missing person since December 28.


They were able to identify the victim through his clothes.


The victim Vo Tien Dung, 46, a businessman, was found wearing gray pants and had no upper garments.


“Idi napan kami, marunrunuten, on stage of decomposition, han mairupaan ta ngimmisiten, narunuten, adun ti maggots en nga nangkwa diay ulo na. Diay bagi na laengen ti makita nga han unay na-decompose,” police from San Isidro relayed thru Abra TV.

In an autopsy, the pathologist said the victim died due to strangling. A wound was also seen in his body which might be a stab wound or a gunshot wound.


Police are now monitoring CCTVs near the area for a possible resolution of the case.


As to the motive of the killing, police are looking into the possibility that the crime was made due to the victim’s ‘money lending’ business.
