Baguio City cop to compete in World Police and Fire Games 2022

Baguio City, Philippines – A Cordilleran cop from Baguio City is set to represent the country in the two individual events of the World Police and Fire Games 2022 to be held in Rotterdam, Netherlands on July 22 to 31.

Police Staff Sergeant Miguel Carranza of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group – Cordillera is among the 200-man team of the Philippine National Police who will be sent to compete in 60 WPFG sports events.


Regional People's Television Network said Carranza will join in half marathon competition and 10-kilometer cross country.

He will compete against the top athletes of the police and fire department from more than 70 countries.


As recalled, Carranza was the first Filipino police to qualify in the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc (UTMB) in 2017. He completed the 166-kilometer UTMB race from France crossing Italy and Switzerland.


The World Police and Fire Games are Olympic-style competition with athletes representing firefighters, law enforcement, and officers from corrections, probation, border protection, immigration and customs.
