Baguio Police checked on man sitting on sidewalk, discovered he was already dead

Baguio City, Philippines - Authorities in Baguio are still investigating the cause of death of a man who was found dead in the city on Saturday morning, March 15.

According to the DZWT 540 AM - Radyo Totoo, police officers discovered the man sitting on the sidewalk along Kalantiao Street, Katingan Barangay, Baguio City, while they were patrolling that day. 

The policemen approached the man and asked him to stand up and leave the area. However, he did not respond to their commands, nor did he show any signs of movement or reaction.

Concerned for his well-being, the cops requested a health expert from the City Health Services Office. Upon arrival, the responding physician confirmed that the man had already passed away before his body was found.

In an initial investigation, the man’s sibling told investigators that his brother was drinking alcohol at a nearby drinking establishment before being discovered dead.

The Baguio City Police Office has yet to ascertain whether alcohol consumption was the cause of the victim’s death. Further investigation is ongoing to determine the real cause of his early demise.
