Baguio Tourism Office gets 5 citations in Tourism Pearl Awards

Baguio City, Philippines – Baguio City brought home a number of citations from the country’s prestigious recognition program in the tourism industry.

The much-coveted Pearl Awards of the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines(ATOP) was held in Boracay on Oct. 05 during the 3-day ATOP- Department of Tourism 24th National Convention.


Pearl Awards is an annual recognition program that aims to honor exceptional achievements and innovations in tourism of the local government units.


For this year’s awarding ceremony, Baguio City bagged a total of 5 awards.


Among the titles include the ‘Most Outstanding Tourism Officer’ bestowed to Baguio Tourism Officer Aloysius Mapalo and Grand Winner of the Best Tourism Week/Month Celebration for the Baguio Tourism Month Celebration 2022.

Ibagiw Festival, on the other hand, was hailed 1st runner up in the search for Best Cultural Festival; Mandeko Kito, Sining Eskinita, Session Road Sundays, and Community Artscape, 1st runner up - Best Program for Culture and the Arts; and Huminga Baguio, 1st runner up of the Best Video for Tourism Promotions Award.


The Baguio Tourism Office, through its Facebook page, acknowledged the Department of Tourism Cordillera, the Creative Baguio City Council, and Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong for their continuing support of the city’s tourism industry.
