Balbalan is 3rd top-performing SubayBAYAN LGU in Kalinga

Balbalan, Kalinga – The Municipality of Balbalan was recognized as the third top-performing local government unit in Kalinga in the implementation of infrastructure projects for the first semester of 2024.

The local government was given recognition by the Department of the Interior and Local Government Kalinga on July 25.

The citation came after LGU Balbalan, headed by Mayor Almar Malannag, obtained 81.75% in the DILG’s SubayBAYAN portal which monitors and provides real-time information on locally funded projects about their ‘physical and financial status’, their implementation, and other data.

Said system aims at promoting accountability and transparency among the LGUs in the implementation of projects.

Apart from landing in the top 3, Balbalan was likewise acknowledged for their 100% compliance rate in the SubayBAYAN for the month of June.

Meanwhile, the first two top spots were secured by Rizal and Tabuk City with 86.75% and 84.5% ratings, respectively. Other LGUs cited for 100% compliance include Tanudan, Rizal, Pasil, and the Provincial Local Government Unit.

“These awards are a testament of LGUs hard work and dedication in providing transparent, excellent, and responsible governance,” the DILG Kalinga wrote.
