Balbalan, Kalinga celebrates as it produced three new physicians

Balbalan, Kalinga—The Municipality of Balbalan has added a new set of physicians to its list of professional doctors, following the success of three iBalbalans in the March—April 2025 Physician Licensure Examination.

These three include Dr. Trisha Ann Morgia Wacas, Dr. Kobe Grant Kibayen Achivara, and Dr. Karen Mae Gumannao Sagalon. They are among the 1,901 who passed the test, which is one of the hardest board examinations administered in the Philippines.

The Balbalan Municipal Local Government Unit, headed by Mayor Almar Malannag, expressed delight with the success of these Balbalan daughters and son.

“The Local Government Unit of Balbalan proudly shares in your remarkable achievement. You've hurdled the toughest road, and your perseverance and dedication have paid off,” the LGU wrote.

Celebrating the success of the three new doctors, the LGU further wrote that their feat is a testament to the potential and talent of the iBalbalans.

“We celebrate your success and acknowledge the hard work, sleepless nights, and sacrifices that brought you to this milestone. Your accomplishment is a testament to the potential and talent that abounds in our community,” the LGU expressed.
