Balbalan LGU gives recognition to top achievers

Balbalan, Kalinga – In recognition of their achievements, the local government unit of Balbalan led by Mayor Almar Malannag gave plaque to those who brought home honor and prestige during its recently concluded 115th founding anniversary celebration.

Held on March 04 at the Balbalan Central School grounds, the appreciation aimed at motivating other yBalbalans to likewise excel in their respective fields.

Balbalan Achievers

Jomar Balangui was recognized for snatching the bronze medal in the 2022 Asian Kickboxing Championship, while Ira Jean Saga-oc was commended for placing 10th in the October 2022 Licensure Examination for Teachers.

The Champion of the National Make X Robotics Competition and second place in the National Battle of Math and Science Quiz - Cesar Ace Malannag, along with the ninth placers in National Make X - John Carlo Bading, Jecymer Kein Cardinal, Kurt Gunnawa, and Marvin Tumbaga Jr., also received acknowledgment. The 9th placers' coaches Marlyn Tumbaga and Gene Ollibac were likewise recognized.

Meanwhile, Balbalasang Proper “Pascual” was praised for making it to the Top 7 in Best Tourism Village of the Department of Tourism – Cordillera. As C-19 Vaccination Regional Awardee, the Rural Health Unit – Balbalan was duly recognized.

At the provincial level, Rodante Duguiawe was conferred the same recognition for having been adjudged as Best Employee in 2022 Gawad DepEd Kalinga; Francilyn Quindara for being Exemplary Deeds Awardee in 2022 Search for IPED Learning Resource Center; Balbalan Central School as 2022 Functional IPED Learning Center; and Municipal Treasury Office as 2022 Tax Collection Efficiency Awardee.

Municipal Agricultural Services Office was also acknowledged for its efforts, causing the municipality to garner the Best Booth Award in the 2023 Agro-fair of the 28th Kalinga Founding Anniversary.

Mayor Malannag and Vice-Mayor Rowina Alison Damian applauded the achievers and encouraged their constituents to be inspired by them.
