Balbalan LGU grants cash gift to dedicated retiree


Balbalan, Kalinga – The local government unit of Balbalan led by Mayor Almar Malannag gave recognition to Jocelyn Bawanta, Midwife II of the Rural Health Unit of the municipality for her dedication and utmost service to the people.


A plaque of recognition and a P50,000 cheque were given to Bawanta for her 16 years of service in the municipality.


The short program was held at the Balbalan Hostel in the municipal site, Barangay Salegleg on January 22, 2023.


Bawanta started working at the municipal RHU in November 2006 and eventually retired at age 60.

She is the wife of Arnolfo Bawanta, who is an Indigenous People’s representative of Barangay Talalang.


“Thank you for dedicating your 16 years to the service of the people of Balbalan and with your unwavering tender and loving care to all your patients. Wishing you all the best and happiness on your retirement,” expressed Malannag through his Facebook page.


Promoted Employees


Meantime, four new appointees were promoted today, January 23, at the mayor’s office of the Municipal Hall. The oath-taking ceremony was led by Mayor Malannag.

These employees are Regine Faye Munda Cruz for Tourism Operations Officer II; Dolores Pultz for Nurse III; Faith Lizette Wacdisan for Social Welfare Officer I; and Beverely Baraguio for Administrative Aide VI (Date Controller).


“Your dedication and perseverance have paid off. May this significant milestone serve as an inspiration for all of you to continue serving our fellow iBalbalan to the best of your abilities,” Malannag said.
