Balbalan LGU to hold Mass Wedding; 69 couples to promise “Till death do us part”

Balbalan, Kalinga – Love will fill the air at the KDCM Sports Center in Poblacion, Balbalan on September 26 as various couples are set to exchange vows in a Mass Wedding ceremony.

The event will be free as all expenses are to be handled by the Balbalan Municipal Local Government Unit headed by Mayor Almar Malannag.

The ceremony will be attended by 69 couples from Barangays Balantoy, Gawaan, and Poblacion.

According to the mayor, the Municipal LGU through the Municipal Registrar Office pushed for the event to let couples particularly those who have been living together but are yet to tie the knot to get married without having to worry about finances.

Malannag relayed that he noticed several children whose parents are not legally married have a harder time accomplishing documents for their job application. Through the mass wedding, other children will no longer have to experience the same in the future.
