Balbalan, Lubuagan, Pasil get P.3M for Diddiga outstanding performance

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Three municipalities in Kalinga got a total of P300,000 or P100,000 each for their outstanding cultural performance in the ‘Diddiga’ on February 12, 2025 at the Kalinga Astrodome.

 

The Diddiga which convened performers across Kalinga to show the rich heritage of the province is part of the 6th Bodong Festival and 30th Kalinga Founding Anniversary celebration.

 

While it was not a competition, the provincial government took note of some exceptional performances and awarded special awards during the event. These three municipalities picked for said award included Balbalan which portrayed ‘Illa-ud’, Lubuagan which showcased ‘Lilay’, and Pasil which presented ‘Pakidum’.

 

The special citation earned each of these three towns P100,000 incentive.

 

Other participating municipalities like Tanudan, Pinukpuk, Tinglayan, Rizal, and the City of Tabuk were awarded P50,000 each for their remarkable talent and performance. The Municipality of Pinukpuk which was cited as ‘Best Attendance of Municipal Officials’ got additional P5,000 incentive.

 

For the other ethnolinguistic groups that presented in the Diddiga – Ga’dang, Bago, and Maranao, they were awarded P25,000 each for their efforts in preserving and sharing their traditions.

 

“Thank you all for keeping our traditions alive and thriving,” the Diddiga Committee 2025 wrote, in a statement, after the success of the event.
