Balbalan, Kalinga – There is no need to travel all the way to Kalinga to taste and take a bite of the mouthwatering cuisine of Balbalan as they are being showcased at the Burnham Park in Baguio City for the ‘Mangan Taku Festival’.

On April 24, the Department of Tourism Cordillera along with the Baguio City government and other partner agencies opened the 6th Mangan Taku Festival at the Rose Garden.

Said festival features indigenous dishes and traditional cooking practices across Cordillera. It aims to serve as a platform to highlight the region’s gastronomy, promote sustainable food practices, and deepen the connection between culture and cuisine, the DOT Cordillera explained.

For this year, one of the participants is the Municipality of Balbalan headed by Mayor Almar Malannag.

Represented by Barangay Poblacion, among the dishes brought by the town to the food fair include "finungol", "inabalan", "nilimbok", "lait", "finasal", and the Balbalan brewed coffee.

Mayor Malannag invites the residents, visitors, and the iKalingas who are in Baguio City to visit the Balbalan booth at the Burnham Park and enjoy the indigenous delicacies prepared by the municipality in the 6th Mangan Taku Festival which will run until April 28, 2025.
