Balbalan wins multiple awards in Provincial Nutrition Month 2024

Balbalan, Kalinga – A number of citations were collected by the Municipality of Balbalan in this year’s Provincial Nutrition Month in Kalinga Province.

For the 2024 nutrition month, the Provincial Local Government Unit of Kalinga held various activities for the month-long celebration and culminated it by announcing the winners of the different contested activities on July 31 in Tabuk City.

Among the contested events was the Provincial Search for Healthy Barangay where Gawaan was announced the winner in the sustainability category while Dao-angan earned the first place in the new entry category.

The town represented by the Balbalan Agro-Industrial High School likewise bagged the first place in the nurti-jingle event; second in the digital nutri-poster through Kelvin Dalo of Poblacion; and third in the nutri-zumba through the entry of the Balbalan Proper Senior Citizens.

The Balbalan Rural Health Unit congratulated the winners and conveyed their appreciation to all who participated and represented the municipality in the Provincial Nutrition Month.

They likewise thanked the Municipal Local Government Unit headed by Mayor Almar Malannag and Vice Mayor Rowina Damian for their support in the town’s entries and participants.
