Balbalan youngsters gathered for Leadership Summit and Youth Camp

Balbalan, Kalinga – Supporting youth empowerment, the Local Government Unit of Balbalan through Mayor Almar Malannag’s leadership convened the young in the municipality for a fun and knowledge-filled camp.

This year’s Municipal Youth Camp and Leadership Summit initiated by the LGU in partnership with the military, police, and other national line agencies opened this Wednesday, June 12 in Barangay Poblacion.

The three-day event covers lectures on anti-illegal drugs and insurgency as well as provides enjoyable activities, informing participants on government programs and giving them means to develop friendship and camaraderie with their fellows.

“Nu haan maikkan dagitoy uubbing iti kastoy nga programa panggep iti drugs, panggep iti insurgency, haan da maawatan nu kasanu epekto na dagitoy,” the mayor conveyed.

Mayor Malannag who advocates empowerment of the younger generation explained that the LGU want to provide an avenue for the youth in the municipality to come and learn together as future leaders of the town. With such gathering, they get to be familiar with each other and be used to working together.

“Dagitoy ubbing gamin, isu met lang ibagbagak kadakuada, dagitoy uubbing gamin iti Balbalan, isuda iti future generation mi nga agsublat kadagitoy ar-aramiden mi tatta ti Balbalan. Tapnu makita da nu anya iti deperensiya na nu isuda ket um-active ditoy program iti gobyerno,” he said.

The 2024 Youth Camp will culminate on Friday, June 14.
