‘Balik probinsiya’ grantees in Pasil, Kalinga get P.2M livelihood aid

Pasil, Kalinga – A returning resident and a farmer organization in Pasil, Kalinga received on Friday, September 23, livelihood grant from the Regional Field office of the Department of Agriculture.

Municipal Agriculturist Jenelyn Massagan, along with other local officers, accompanied Lorenzo Biano and representatives of Umawilan Malucsad Organization in receiving P238,916 aid during the ceremonial turn over conducted at Kalinga Provincial Veterinary Office compound.

Massagan relayed that before the distribution of aid, the recipients were trained to capacitate them on swine raising on September 20 to 22 in Malucsad, Pasil.

Biano used to live in Baguio City but chose to return home due to the adverse impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. He applied for the agri-based livelihood assistance under Balik Probinsiya Bagong Pag-asa (BP2) Program and was found eligible by the regional department.

He received P82,083.00 worth of 2 gilt crossbreeds; 8 bags of hog feeds; a set of farm tools containing garden hose, grab hoe, and field boots; various vegetable seeds; and 2 bags of vegetable fertilizers.

Meanwhile, Umawilan Malucsad Organization got P156,833.00 worth of 4 crossbreed gilts, various vegetable seeds, and a bag of fertilizer for their Crop-Livestock Livelihood Project from the same program.

The recipients are thankful for the government aid which they said would significantly help in augmenting their income and start-up.

The government’s BP2 program provides inclusive growth, adequate services, and employment opportunities to beneficiaries once they have been sent back to their respective home provinces from congested urban areas.
