Bangued, Abra experiences grenade attack

Bangued, Abra – An unsettling event struck Bangued, Abra this Monday, March 10, just a few hours after the province concluded its Abrenian Kawayan Festival.  

 

The province’s capital experienced a grenade attack.

 

According to a report from the local media, an unidentified individual threw a fragmentation grenade in front of the Philippine National Bank located at Magallanes Street, Barangay Zone 5, Bangued, at around 12:30 a.m. of said day.   

 

Fortunately, no one was hurt as the explosive failed to explode. However, the glass door panel of the bank was destroyed as the attacker also threw stones at the establishment. 

 

Notified of the incident around 1:30 a.m., the responding officers arrived immediately at the place and recovered the unexploded grenade. In-depth investigations are underway to identify those responsible for the crime and to determine their motives.
