Benguet farmers receive P4M agricultural machineries from DA- Cordillera

La Trinidad, Benguet - Over P4 million worth of agricultural machineries from the Department of Agriculture - Cordillera has been distributed to various farmers' groups in Benguet on November 17, 2023

This initiative, as mentioned by the DA - Cordillera in their press release, aims to boost agricultural production in Benguet.

The agricultural equipment includes 27 units of walking-type tractor and 44 units of power sprayer.

While the tractors were given to farmer associations, the 44 power sprayers were provided by the agency for farmers who are newly certified in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).

Prior to the distribution of agricultural units, a Memorandum of Agreement was forged between the Regional Agricultural and Fisheries Council and the FCA beneficiaries to ensure its proper use in accordance with its intended purpose.

Under the agreement, the farmers are required to maintain the given interventions, provide permanent sheds, and formulate internal guidelines relevant to the operation, among others.

The DA-RFO Cordillera has the right to recover the given equipment if the beneficiaries fail to meet their obligations, the MOA includes.
