Benguet gets P225.87M farm-to-market road

Benguet, Philippines – Communities in Benguet officially received the multi-million Km. 49 to Ambakian Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) from the government on July 04, 2023.

In a simple ceremony in Batan, Kabayan, government officials turned over the said FMR which costs P225.87 million to the constituents, the Office of Governor Melchor Diclas reported.

The 10.87 kilometer road connecting Barangay Paoay, Atok and Batan, Kabayan was funded by the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Provincial Government of Benguet with 90% - 10% sharing.

The allotted budget covered the different infrastructure improvements such as the widening of the roads; the establishment of the Portland Cement Concrete Pavements (PCCP); and the construction of cross drains, grouted riprap, slope protections, concrete barriers, and concrete canals.

In a statement, Governor Diclas acknowledged the efforts and works of the past provincial and municipal administrations in processing the required documents needed for the project’s implementation.

He also believed that the project will be of great help to the farmers in improving their income and productivity.
