‘Best Gulayan sa Bakuran’ in Kalinga is in PASIL

Pasil, Kalinga – The entry of the Municipality of Pasil for the provincial “Best Gulayan sa Bakuran” contest in Kalinga emerged as the over-all winner, announced the Municipal Health Office on Saturday, July 30.

The contest encourages households to do backyard gardening for self-sufficiency and promote healthy living amid the pandemic.

The Pasil MHO earlier conducted a municipal-wide search for the said activity in July, in celebration of the Nutrition Month 2022, where interested participants were tasked to submit a picture of the whole view of their garden which must be in jpeg/png format.

The winning entry of Alunia Dongan from Barangay Magsilay at the municipal level became the entry of Pasil for the provincial wide search.

It was later submitted to the Provincial Nutrition Committee which evaluated and judged all entries.

The said committee chose Dongan’s garden the winner although the award is yet to be given.

Other awards obtained from the provincial celebration of Nutrition Month 2022

Pasil ranked 2nd in the F1K contemporary dance, 3rd in I-flex si Healthy Buntis Photo Contest, and consolations for Nutri-Digital Poster Making, Nutri-Poem Making, Nutri-Draw and Tell, and Nutri-Bibo Kid.

Municipal Health Officer, Dr. Aldrin Siwao extended his felicitations to the winners and all the participants for representing the municipality.

“Salamat din kay Dr. Margie, sa ating mga members ng LNC (Local Nutrition Council) and our health workers nga nangipapati tapnu awad pagay nangirepresent hin Pasil. Kudos to all of you!” Siwao expressed.
