BJMP- Baguio named National Best City Jail

Baguio City, Philippines – The hard work and dedication of the facility's leadership and staff of the Baguio City Jail – Male Dormitory paid off as they were named as the country’s best jail unit this 2024 by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).


Under the leadership of City Jail Warden JSUPT April Rose Wandag-Ayangwa, the Baguio City Jail - Male Dorm excelled in efficient management practices and the implementation of various programs, projects, and activities for the holistic care and development of all Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) within their custody.


This commitment to the well-being of the inmates under their care led them to receive the “National Best City Jail Unit” award from the BJMP.


The awarding ceremony took place during the 33rd BJMP Anniversary on July 1, 2024, at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo in Quezon City, Metro Manila.


Aside from BJMP – Baguio, Senior Inspector Bartolome Tresmanio, the Acting Jail Warden of Mt. Province District Jail, was recognized for his innovative management reforms that have demonstrated the bureau's commitment to comprehensive rehabilitation within the jail facilities.


Tresmanio received the title of “National Best District Jail Warden” during said event.
