Bodong Festival: Who will be crowned Miss Kalinga 2025?

Tabuk City, Kalinga - The application for the much-awaited search for the next Miss Kalinga is now officially open!

 

Aspiring candidates began submitting their applications on January 10. The application shall be open until Monday, January 13, 2025.

 

The search for the Miss Kalinga pageant is among the main events of the upcoming 30th Kalinga Founding Anniversary and 6th Bodong Festival to be held in February.

 

The charisma of iKalinga beauties will once again take center stage as they showcase their elegance, talent, and cultural heritage to captivate audiences and judges alike.

 

Who is qualified for the pageant?

 

To be eligible for the competition, the applicant must meet the following criteria: must be bona fide citizen, born and raised in Kalinga, single and childless, possesses good moral character with no criminal record, aged between 18 and 25 years old, and with a minimum height of 5'2".

 

The criteria aim to ensure that participants meet the specific standards, goals, and vision of the event.

 

Application requirements and procedures

 

As mentioned by the province’s Information Office, application forms are available at the Office of the Provincial Budget Officer or can be downloaded from this link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qAf0DH7MDygZMJmUSKguBeAsCd65eZC8/view.

 

A photocopy of the applicant's PSA birth certificate must be attached to the application form with the original copy required for verification and submitted to the said office.

 

Each of the seven municipalities in Kalinga, along with Tabuk City, will sponsor one candidate. Additional slots are open for privately sponsored participants, requiring a minimum sponsorship of P35,000.

 

Pageant activities

 

The pre-pageant will take place for the presentation of talents and personalities of the candidates in  the talent competition, creative ethnic attire, and casual interview.

 

The coronation night will be on February 13, highlighting swimsuit, Kalinga ethnic attire, and long gown competition. Candidates will also present their advocacy campaign and respond to the question-and-answer portion.

 

To recall, Audrey Cana ChapapMagallis of CLGU - Tabuk was crowned as Miss Kalinga last year and with the re-opening of the search this year, the excitement is building up, with people anticipating the next who will take over the crown and embody the beauty, intelligence, and cultural pride of Kalinga.
