Body of 13-yr-old boy found floating along Cagayan River in Enrile

Enrile, Cagayan - A teenager, who was initially reported to have drowned in the Cagayan River in Enrile on March 23, was found lifeless after almost twenty-four hours of search and rescue operation.

According to the Cagayan Provincial Information Office, the drowning incident occurred on the afternoon of March 23. It was reported to the police that the victim, 13, went to the river in Barangay Maddarulog with six other minors.

Tragically, the teenager drowned while they were swimming.

Notified of the incident, authorities immediately proceeded to the river to rescue the victim. Despite the swift response, the victim was already dead when his body was located this March 25.

In her interview with the Cagayan PIO, Janet Patalinghug, the station manager of Task Force Lingkod Cagayan-Quick Response Team-Tuguegarao, said the father of the victim identified the discovered body as his son.

The victim’s body was later brought to his residence for his wake.

Those who conducted the search and rescue operation included the members of the MDRRMO-Enrile, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Enrile, Philippine Coast Guard, PNP-Enrile, MDRRMO Piat, TFLC-QRT Tuguegarao, and the Provincial DRRM Office (PDRRMO).
