Another landslide victim in Apayao recovered, 3 more still missing

Apayao, Philippines – Another victim of the Calanasan, Apayao massive landslide was recovered by authorities Wednesday afternoon, August 09, 2023.

He was identified as Bernard Amlag Dasilag, 52, a resident of Butao, Calanasan, and a member of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU).

The body of the victim was unearthed by the search and retrieval team around 4:00 p.m. on said date.

He was positively identified by Chief Tanod Renato Dasilag through the color and brand of his short pants.

Bernard was buried along with five other individuals when a landslide occurred at the height of Super Typhoon Egay at Sitio Lubong on July 26.

Of the six buried by the landslide, three have been found so far and a search and retrieval operation is still ongoing to find the bodies of the remaining victims.
