Body of teenager found hanging from tree in Benguet

La Trinidad, Benguet – A teenager’s body was found hanging from a pine tree at Sitio Tabangaoen, Balili on Wednesday, June 21, with the police suspecting it to be a suicide case.

The victim’s body was first spotted by Arman Agayam while he was searching for mushrooms in the area, which happened to be a land reservation of the Benguet State University.

When found, the victim was wearing a blue sweater, red shirt and black jogging pants.

He immediately informed the police of what he saw, urging the police to come at the area and recover the body.

Leo Kim, a Facebook user, also shared the victim's picture on his page, along with a note asking if anyone had a relative who had not yet returned home. This may have aided in the victim's immediate identification.

The victim whose name was withheld is a 16-year-old, high school student and a resident of Tawang, La Trinidad. His identity was confirmed by his father, police said.
