Body of UC Engineering student found burnt in La Union

Baguio City, Philippines – The body of a 21-year-old Engineering student in Baguio City was found burnt and allegedly torched by still unidentified individuals.

Reports on July 3 revealed that the body of Mark Dave Galario Valdez, a student of the University of the Cordilleras and a native of Pozorrubio, Pangasinan was discovered in Quirino, Bacnotan by a 56-year-old driver.

Said person parked the car he was driving and was supposed to urinate when he saw an abandoned body at the side of the road. He immediately brought this to the attention of the authorities who proceeded to the area to process the body.

The 21-year-old’s remains were later described to have wounds and bruises and are suspected to have been scorched.

As the investigation of the case progresses, the family and relatives of the 21-year-old student are crying for justice for his untimely death.

Among those who extended their sympathies to the bereaved family include the Pozorrubio Local Government Unit.
