Bulut Jr. reaffirms commitment to improve education in Apayao

Flora, Apayao - Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr. reaffirmed his commitment to improving education in the province during his recent visit to various schools in Flora, Apayao last Monday, Sept. 11, 2023.

"Edukasyon iti papintasen tayo a sumaruno. That is why we are fully supporting DepEd. Kitaen tayo ti napintas nga pagyanan iti ubbing,” said the governor while addressing school teachers and officials.

Likewise, in his speech during the turnover ceremony of the newly constructed Child Development Center in San Jose, Flora on same day, Bulut expressed his deep concern for students particularly those who are in far-flung areas.

As cited by the Apayao Provincial Information Office, Bulut emphasized that their situation is one of the reasons why the dropout rate is increasing in the province.

"We are going to make sure that those who are living in the far-flung areas are not being left out. Kasano ngaroden tay maysa aldaw nga magmagna tapno laeng mapan agbasa. Kakaasi da nga mabanbannog every day, all because they have no access to quality education within their community. That's one of the reasons kung bakit mataas ang dropout rate natin dito sa province. ” he explained.

The governor also stressed the need for equal opportunities to students saying, "bigyan natin sila ng level playing field na katulad ng mga batang nasa centro. I want equal opportunities for all our students. Sitayo metten a ti mangiasideg ti serbisyo nga para kanyada.”

Further, Bulut likewise noted that Apayao is already 'capable of producing topnotchers', urging the educational sectors to step up and prepare a plan for the next decade.

"It's about time that we plan the next 10 years. Masapol nga agaddang tayo metten ti sumagmamano nga steps ti biag. . . We are already capable of producing topnotchers as we can see from the previous years," he conveyed.
