Cadaver of elderly found floating in a river in Peñablanca, Cagayan

Peñablanca, Cagayan – A cadaver was found floating in a river in Peñablanca, Cagayan, on Wednesday night, October 26.

The cadaver was already bloated when it was discovered by a resident in the area.

Police identified the cadaver as Jacinto Telan, 60, a resident of Barangay Bical, Peñablanca.

Accordingly, the victim was last seen on the morning of Monday, October 24.

A family member said the elderly person went out to graze his carabao but has never returned home.

It was only on Wednesday night that he was seen again, but was already lifeless.

In a statement, Deputy Chief of Peñablanca Police Station, PLT Juliet Narag said they did not see any visible angle of foul play regarding Telan’s death.

They are hinting that the victim, while under the influence of liquor, only went to the river to bathe and accidentally drowned.
