Cagayan and Kalinga conduct parallel investigation on ambush that killed 2 men in Pinococ, Pinukpuk

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Lawmen, both from Cagayan and Kalinga are now conducting a parallel investigation into a shooting incident that transpired over the weekend in Barangay Pinococ, Pinukpuk, Kalinga.

 

The shooting incident led to the death of two individuals, who were both residents of Tuao Cagayan.

 

The two were identified as Fernando F. Cabuag, 56, of Barangay Accusillian, Tuao, Cagayan, and Mateo Baluyan, 62, of Barangay Cato, Tuao.

 

Cabuag, who sustained fatal gunshot wounds to his head was declared dead on arrival. Baluyan, on the other hand, died while receiving treatment in a medical facility in Cagayan. The companions of the casualties, meantime, were left unhurt during the incident as they were able to run for safety.

 

To recall, it was broad daylight on October 12 when the victims, along with two others, became the target of an ‘ambush’. The four were then headed to Centro 2, Tuao, Cagayan. Police said they were onboard a Nissan Terrano vehicle. The motive for the crime remains unknown to date.

 

Meantime, local police are yet to divulge further details regarding the incident as they are still investigating the case.
