Cagayan region’s suspected big-time drug peddler falls in buy-bust

Cagayan, Philippines – A Chinese who is a suspected big-time drug peddler in Cagayan region was arrested in a buy-bust operation on Wednesday, June 9.

The Police Regional Office(PRO) 2 Public Information Office identified the suspect as Lijun Cao, 38, businessman and a native of Guangzhou, China, but presently residing in Visitacion, Sta Ana.

He is listed as a Regional High Value Individual.

Cao was apprehended by the police along the Provincial Road in Edsa, Sta. Ana on said date after he was caught selling six sachets allegedly containing shabu to an undercover operative.

Authorities also recovered 27 other pieces of suspected shabu amounting to P75,000 during the arrest.

Cao was then brought to Sta. Ana Police Station along with the confiscated pieces of evidence for proper booking prior to inquest proceeding. He will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
