Candidates for ‘Taer ken Dayag ti Apayao’ showcase talents, advocacies in preliminary tilt


Luna, Apayao – Exciting events are now unfolding as the 29th Founding Anniversary of Apayao kicks off, and one of the highlights is the preliminary competition of the province’s largest pageant, the ‘Taer and Dayag ti Apayao’.

 

Sharing the spotlight in this year’s showcase of masculinity and wit are Mark John Ablangan of Pudtol; Zeid Batacan of Flora; John Patrick Peña of Luna; Leomar Alayao of Calanasan; Arl Dave Portacio of Kabugao; Johnny Gayyed Jr. of Conner; and John Kenneth Yadao of Santa Marcela.

 

 For the beauties, they are Dhesirie Jharraine Salisipan of Pudtol; Yna Ylajei Tapo of Flora; Clein Anne Moredo of Luna; Lei Gertrude Avryl Ravelo of Calanasan; Shiana Camille Catral of Conner; Kate Joy Galano of Santa Marcela; and Kathlyn Joy Dicray of Kabugao.


On Monday, February 6, the 14 candidates showcased their talents, flaunted their casual wear, and shared their advocacies with the public.


In the advocacy discussion segment, the ‘Dayag’ candidates relayed their advocacies spanning sustainable agri-tourism development, strengthening inclusivity and diversity, sustainable agriculture, environmental and cultural protection, preservation and promotion, environmental protection, teenage pregnancy awareness, and sustainable tourism.

 

As for the ‘Taer’ candidates, their advocacies centered on sustainable community development by promoting local products, strategic marketing and developing marketing linkages, sustainable agriculture and development, sport development, quality education, community empowerment through religion, and disaster preparedness awareness.

 

Skills and talents showcased included singing, painting, performing modern and ethnic dances, puppetry, sand art, mixed martial arts, and playing musical instruments.

 

The results of the preliminary competition will be announced on the final night, scheduled for February 13 at the BGVJR Memorial Sports Center in Luna.
