“CDRRMC warehouse demonstrates the government’s commitment to enhance emergency response”-Mangaoang

Tabuk City, Kalinga – In his remark during the turn over and inauguration of the first Cordillera Regional Disaster Risk Resilience Management Council (RDRRMC) Warehouse and Logistics Hub, Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang underscored that the edifice demonstrates the government’s commitment to enhance responsiveness and improve efficiency in responding to distress calls in times of calamities.

The P25 million worth warehouse located at Kalinga Capitol started construction on August 27, 2021 in a lot donated by the provincial government then under the administration of former Governor Ferdinand Tubban.

After its completion earlier this year, the facility was reported operational on August 02. It was finally blessed through traditional ‘songa’ ritual, and turned over to recipients on Friday, October 07.

Congressman Mangaoang congratulated all the national line agencies involved in the realization of the worthwhile project.

The strategic location of this regional warehouse, he said, will improve the prepositioning of relief supplies that will reduce gaps and overlaps in emergency preparedness, especially that large scale disasters inflict heavier damages to areas with geographical characteristics like Cordillera.

“Relief operation therefore is a very critical component to mitigate the effects of a disaster. Pre-disaster planning has an important role on the reducing on the arrival of time relief items to the affected areas and efficiently allocating them,” he added.

Said facility is expected to cater disaster-related emergency services particularly prepositioning, distribution, and management of food and non-food items for Apayao, Ifugao, Mountain Province, and Kalinga.’

“Only with the joint efforts will the vision of resilient society be realized”

Mangaoang further reminded the local officials of the important task ahead towards build the resilience of their people from future disasters.

“A common thread to all of those endeavors is convergence… Only with the joint efforts will the vision of resilient society be realized. That is what we aim to do for which our office shall continue to proudly partner with the various national line agencies and the provincial local government unit in the many days of humanitarian endeavors,” stressed the solon.
