Carnappers in Tabuk abandon stolen motorcycle after seeing police patrol

Tabuk City, Kalinga – If it were not for the patrolling police, a young man in Tabuk City whose motorcycle was taken by carnappers would have completely lost his vehicle to the thieves.

Carnappers took the young man’s motorcycle from Iñequez Street in Dagupan Centro, Tabuk City early morning of Friday, January 17, 2025.

Punong Barangay George Esteras said that the XRM motorcycle was taken from the house of the victim around 1:00 a.m. However, these unidentified people were not able to take away the vehicle as they immediately abandoned it upon noticing the patrolling cops at the boundary of Casigayan and Dagupan Centro.

“Inabandon da ta adda iti patrol [car]. Indur-duron da diay motor tapos inabandon da,” Esteras described to GURU Press Cordillera.

The XRM was returned to its owner, and punong barangay Esteras expressed his appreciation to the Tabuk City police who were on duty in those early hours.

For the public, Esteras advises that they secure their vehicles, buildings, and establishments in order not to fall victim to thieves and burglars who attack any time of the day.

This week alone, some individuals and business people have been sharing the same experiences on losing their money, grocery items, and some valuables to thieves and burglars who broke into their establishments while they were out of their buildings.

A netizen called the series of burglary “Takaw Epedemic” in the City.
