'Case to be filed against health protocol violators not paying fine' - PNP Tabuk

Tabuk City, Kalinga – After almost a year since minimum health protocols were imposed, Philippine National Police in the city say majority of the people are already wearing their face masks but there are still few who are not.

PLtCol. Radino Belly, Tabuk City Chief of Police said that just this February 5, seven individuals were issued ticket for violating the City Ordinance 003 series of 2020.

“Idi kalaman naka-issue tayo iti seven tickets ta makita tayo met piman ket adda met piman iti face mask dagiay daduma, halos amin, ngem adda latta dagiay nasubeg nga awan iti face mask na,” he said.

Fine for not wearing face mask is P1000 or 2-hour community service for first offense; P3,000 or 4-hour community service for second; and P5,000 or imprisonment for a period of not more than a week for the succeeding offenses.

“Nu adda iti matiliw tayo issue an tayo iti ticket. Adda met piman dagiay nagbayad, adda met piman diyay awan pagbayad da isunga ag-comcommunity service da,” Belly said.

However, he added, some violators have not come back yet to pay their fines nor to render community service, “so after three days nga haan da agsubli ket we will try nga agi-file tayo iti kaso kadakuada.”

Meanwhile, the Chief of Police appeals to the public to continue following the minimum health standards and to wear their face masks wherever they go especially that cases in the city are increasing.

“[ken] extra careful tayo karkaru nu makisalsalamuha tayo iti tao ken tatta nga ECQ ... bawal tatta ti gatherings,” he added, noting that in their contact tracing, many got the virus due to contact with numbers of people.
