CBA-CPLA farmers in Benguet receive P2.4M agricultural assistance through SIPAT program


La Trinidad, Benguet - Cordillera Bodong Administration and the Cordillera People's Liberation Army (CBA-CPLA) farmers in the two municipalities of Benguet receive aid in boosting their agricultural production through a P2.4 million worth of agricultural assistance on Monday, December 18, 2023.

 

The assistance is part of the Sustainability and Inclusive Peace and Transformation (SIPAT) program of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU) which was created to provide sustainable livelihood opportunities for members of the Cordillera Bodong Administration and the Cordillera People's Liberation Army (CBA-CPLA).

 

Funded by the agency with the help of the Department of Agriculture—Cordillera as its implementing unit, agricultural inputs were distributed to two farmer groups in the municipalities of Kibungan and Mankayan on said day.

 

Beneficiaries include the Osdong Cagam-is Pakpakitan Multipurpose Cooperative (OCPMC) and the Ambabag-Sinakay Farmers Organization (ASFO).

 

Among the farm inputs given were 55 cans and 260 packs of vegetable seeds, and 354 bags of fertilizer amounting to 1.3 million were given to the OSCAPA, while 3 units of square tanks and 464 bags of fertilizer amounting to 1.1 million were provided to the ASFO.

 

To recall, Mankayan and Kibungan are among the municipalities or areas with 232 listed members of CBA-CPLA in the Cordillera in 2022.
