Christmas is in the air: Balbalan LGU begins setting up Christmas Village for ‘Pailaw’ 2024

Balbalan, Kalinga – Families and friends in Balbalan will soon have a place where they can bond while enjoying a mesmerizing sight this Yuletide season with the opening of the town’s Christmas Village this coming December 2, 2024.

For the past two years, Balbalan under Mayor Almar Malannag’s administration has made it a tradition to conduct a Christmas tree and lantern lighting in the municipality every December. The lighting ceremony has always been accompanied by a live music and a fireworks display.

This allows the people and visitors in Balbalan to gather and enjoy an enchanted Christmas celebration with their loved ones.

Mayor Malannag relayed that the LGU has started this year’s Christmas Village by setting up some Christmas trees, lights, and spectacles this week.  

According to the mayor, they kept this tradition to let the public, especially the young ones who usually love enchanting environments on Christmas, enjoy the Yuletide season by strolling around the town’s mesmerizing Christmas village.

“Importante kanyak ket dagitoy u-ubbing, dagitoy sumarsaruno kadatayo ta da isuda iti mangituloy nu anya inaramid tayo isu nga kanayun nga diay pagayatan ken pagsayaatan da iti ikkak iti importansiya,” he said.

The local chief executive is inviting the public to the ‘Pailaw’ in Balbalan on December 2 at the Municipal Hall Compound.
