Closure of Kennon Road reiterated amid continued disregard by some motorists

Baguio City, Philippines – Authorities are reiterating their advisory on the closure of Kennon Road as some motorists are still taking the route.

Effective February 19, the Kennon Road was closed at Camp 6, Tuba, Benguet until further notice to facilitate necessary road works and maintenance activities aimed at ensuring the safety and stability of the route.

Even with clear orders, some travelers still use the off-limits part of the road, causing traffic jams and possible dangers.

To avoid traffic congestion and potential safety risks, the public is strongly advised to utilize alternative routes.

For non-residents traveling down from Baguio are permitted from Sunday (12:01 AM) to Wednesday (12:00 MN), while those who are going up to the city are allowed from Thursday (12:01 AM) to Saturday (12:00 MN).

In the event of Kennon Road closure, non-residents are advised to utilize alternative routes, including Marcos Highway and Asin-Nangalisan-San Pascual-La Union Boundary Road.

Only Kennon Road residents and those traveling for emergencies can go both ways on the road, but upon hitting Camp 6 project area, they have to take a detour through Bued River.

By following the prescribed routes, motorists can navigate their journeys with ease during this temporary closure period.
