Isabela, Philippines – An active teen in Barangay Sillawit, Cauayan City who was enrolled for second year of bachelor's degree in elementary education won’t be able to make it to classes after the hit-and-run that claimed her life.

Based on the CCTV footage, the 19-year-old victim was riding a Yamaha Mio Soul around 12:30 a.m. today, August 10. She was at the said village, heading towards the direction of Cauayan City proper.

The victim took a left turn when a Toyota Fortuner suddenly hit her.

Accordingly, the Toyota overtook a truck before hitting Sandara Bareng, a resident of the same barangay. Instead of helping the young victim, the still unidentified suspect drove off.

Bareng, meanwhile, was rushed to Esther Garcia Medical Center but was pronounced dead on arrival.

While the police investigation is underway, the Bareng family is seeking justice for Sandara’s death.

“Kung konsensya nung nakabangga na magtago habang buhay alam ko na sa Diyos, siya na ang hahatol sa kaniya, pero kung susuko siya hindi naman kami magagalit, andiyan na yan e hindi na natin maibabalik buhay ng bata, so, kailangan lang maibigay lang din hustisya ang pagkabangga ng anak ko,”said the victim’s father Sherwin Bareng in his interview with 92.9 Brigada News Cauayan City.
