College student transporting marijuana nabbed in Tabuk

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A 23-year-old college student was arrested in Barangay Ipil Sunday afternoon, April 3, 2022, for allegedly transporting marijuana from Tabuk bound to Baguio City.


Said arrest was made possible from a tip that the authorities received, of which information on the suspect matched Christian Kyle Tercero, a native of Tabuk City, but currently residing in Baguio City.


With the aid of a drug-sniffing dog, the contraband inside the bag of the suspect was discovered. Said bag allegedly contained four bricks of suspected dried marijuana leaves worth P480,000 and a sachet of a substance believed to be shabu worth P1,360 were discovered.


When the suspect was brought to Tabuk City Police Station after an on-site inventory of the items seized from him, the police reported that the suspect has also disclosed that there are still remaining bricks of marijuana that he bought and left at the house where he was staying in Bulanao.

Tercero then led the police to the site, where 3 pieces of suspected marijuana bricks with an estimated value of P360,000 were retrieved.


Police also disclosed that allegedly the suspect claimed that he is selling said illegal substance to finance his tuition fee.


A case for violation of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspect.
