COMELEC-Pasil urges voters to participate on final testing and sealing of Vote Counting Machines

Pasil, Kalinga – Commission on Election of Pasil chaired by Election Officer Abe Baawa urged the registered voters and the watchers who will serve in the municipality to attend the final testing and sealing of all Vote Counting Machines (VCMs) that will be used for the May 09, 2022 polls.

The local commission scheduled the final testing and sealing on May 07, 2022 to ensure transparency this coming election.

The VCMs will be tested at the established voting centers except for the VCMs of the five centers which will be brought to the Municipal Gymnasium in Amdalao due to the long distance and the absence of communication signals.

These are VCMs in Batong Buhay Elementary School, Balatoc Elem. School, Colayo Elem. School, Bagtayan Elem. School, and Dao - Cagaluan Primary School.

The conduct of final testing and sealing of the VCMs of said voting centers at the Municipal Gymnasium will guarantee immediate fix of any technical issues that might be encountered.

During the final testing and sealing, the Electoral Board will perform diagnostics of all the parts and peripherals of the VCMs to determine and resolve possible defects.

Baawa said the board will provide 10 test ballots that the participants will use to test shade and verify whether the machine will respond accordingly.

If the result of the election return from the voting machine matches the manual verification of all the 10 ballots, the VCMs will be sealed, indicating that it is ready to be used for the national and local elections.
