Community restroom built in Pasil for students hunting for Internet Signal

Pasil, Kalinga – The 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company with various stake holders constructed a community comfort room in Sitio Lonong, Barangay Dangtalan, Pasil to help ease the trouble of students when nature calls while doing their modules in their study area.

The 2nd KPMFC initiated the project after former Force Commander Police Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Fakat discovered some students gathered at a certain spot when he went biking in Lower Uma.

When Fakat asked the students what they were doing in Sitio Lonong, they told him that it is the only area where the internet signal is fast, enabling them to accomplish their modules.

Apart from the students, Fakat also encountered teachers who also go to the said spot to do their lesson plans and other requirements.

The area is far from the community, and there is no restroom - only a field of grass.

By the efforts of the 2nd KPMFC End Local Communist Armed Conflict(ELCAC), various stakeholders, including Pasil Municipal Mayor, Alfredo Malannag Jr. and Lubuagan Mayor, Atty. Charisma Ann Dickpus, raised a fund to construct the restroom.

The restroom was completed last December 24, 2021, but was turned over to the community this January 8, 2022.

The police also supplied and constructed benches in the area, “ta nakitak idi napanak idiay nagadu iti bato nga bagbagkaten da tapnu pagtugawan da,” Fakat recalled.

Meantime, the Sangguniang Kabataan of Lower Uma, Dangoy, and Dangtalan were assigned for maintenance of the said facility.
