Updated: Oct 1, 2022

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The Representative of the Lone District of Kalinga, Allen Jesse Mangaoang, allotted a total of P38 million for the social programs of his office this 2022 – medical and burial assistance, and Government Internship Program (GIP).

Fernando Cosidon of the Office of the Congressman disclosed during a local radio program aired Wednesday, September 28, that P18 million of the said amount was distributed to various partner hospitals for the Medical Assistance for Indigent Patients (MAIP) from the province.

P5.5 million was provided to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital (KPH) and P2.5 million each to Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC), Baguio General Hospital (BGH), National Kidney Institute, Philippine Heart Center, and Philippine Lung Center.

Cosidon, in an earlier interview, stressed that the Office of the Congressman accommodates patients suffering from grave diseases, especially cancer and kidney failure.

Those in need, he explained, only have to submit medical records and undergo an interview. The said office will then issue a guarantee letter indicating the amount to be shouldered by the office. The letter will be presented to the cashier of the hospital where the patient is confined.

Meanwhile, Regino Wacas of the same office belied the allegation of a certain social media user that the fund for medical aid is being corrupted.

“I-emphasize tayo man diay accusation ni Juan Gabriel De Jesus nga makurkurakot ti adda ti medical assistance, ta han nga makurakot dayta ta guarantee letter lang ti magapu ti opisina,” Wacas said.

Burial assistance

For the burial assistance, the solon allotted P5 million fund.

“Dagitoy ket awan met ti pilpilyen ni Congressman nga tulungan na, amin nga umay basta adda pay pondo ket maikkan,” underscored Cosidon.

Further, P15 million was appropriated for the Government Internship Program (GIP) which gives employment to fresh graduates in the province.

The P10 million, according to Cosidon was for the 420 beneficiaries in April to July 2022 while the P5 million will be for the 195 recipients this September to December.

“So dagita kakailyan ti nangikabilan, nakaimaan dagiti pondo nga inparpa-ruwar ti nagaget, nasaringit nga Congressman tayo tapnu matulungan dagiti kakailyan nga agkasapulan ti assistance,” Cosidon concluded.
